Working As a Tutor For the Hialeah Public Schools

Working As a Tutor For the Hialeah Public SchoolsTutoring Hialeah public schools is a great opportunity for those who want to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of children. In this area, where the majority of the children come from low-income families, child care programs are needed. So, working as a teacher's aide in one of these child care centers can be a unique and rewarding experience. There are many different areas where tutoring is needed in Hialeah. For example, there are charter schools in the area, as well as private institutions, including the charter schools that are not publicly funded. Here, there are often times that the children need more attention than is provided by a regular tutor or in-home tutor. Therefore, tutoring is a perfect solution for Hialeah parents to help with their children's educational needs. The kind of work that tutoring in Hialeah takes requires some special abilities and expertise. You will have to be able to work directly with children who have disabilities and have learning difficulties, as well as, dealing with a classroom that can include various children, so you must be able to work in a team environment and be able to teach different people how to read and learn at the same time. If you are interested in tutoring in Hialeah, it will take a great deal of self-motivation and persistence to do the job well. There are many benefits to tutoring Hialeah. For one thing, it can be a very rewarding experience for you. It can help to give you the fulfillment that is lacking in your life. Another thing that makes this type of tutoring in Hialeah appealing is that there are many benefits, not only for the individual being tutored but also, for the whole community. The children that are being tutored are typically in third grade or older, and they are not in public school students. These children are typically academically challenged and the usual curriculum consists of English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. T hus, there are often times that it is the children that have these skills that are being tutored, because their parents cannot afford to send them to school and they cannot afford the fees associated with home schooling, which can be expensive. In addition to helping the children, tutoring in Hialeah also helps the parents and the teachers in the program. These teachers know that if they are dealing with children who have physical disabilities or learning difficulties, the best solution is tutoring in Hialeah. The result is that the children can be evaluated and their learning difficulties can be remedied so that the children can continue on with their normal academic activities. Most importantly, there are children in Hialeah that are not in public school that would benefit from tutoring. As stated previously, they are academically challenged and their families simply do not have the resources to send them to public school. The consequence is that these children often miss out on the developmental and educational benefits that can be gained from attending public school. One of the benefits that are associated with tutoring in Hialeah is that it has a strong educational component. There are several programs that require the individual to be certified, have teaching experience, and to have certain skills.

An Overview of Educational Tutoring Programs For Toddlers

An Overview of Educational Tutoring Programs For ToddlersTaught tutoring for toddlers should be the goal of every teacher and parent, but it is often elusive. These children are often too much for most teachers to handle, especially if they have no background in childcare and the toddler has no formal schooling. Most teachers aren't really comfortable with the idea of teaching and learning to their children, especially when they already feel that they don't know enough about the subject matter. When you want to begin tutoring for toddlers, you need to make sure that you have the right curriculum. This can be a hard topic to find time to research, especially since many tutoring programs for toddlers fall under the auspices of traditional schools. It is imperative that you search for a program that provides the right educational material to prepare your child for the first step of tutoring, which is Kindergarten. A lesson plan will help you in teaching this first stage in a fun and inte ractive way, while allowing your child to develop an overall attitude and confidence. The time required to read through the many other lessons in a program may be very daunting, so you may want to consider purchasing or making an online package that includes some of the more engaging lessons, which are more commonly found in the programs for children. Online tutoring programs for toddlers also enable you to review the material as it is taught, so that you can really see what is being done and whether it is working.Make sure that the online program has a homework assignment or activity for each lesson and video for each activity. This enables your child to demonstrate skills and learn faster. It is also important that the program allows you to perform the tasks in the computer, allowing you to view the progress as your child goes through the program. If your child is lacking motivation to perform the tasks, you may want to look at purchasing a program that contains parental management software that allows you to lock the computer while the child is completing the program. It is very important that you use a tutor that has experience in working with children and can be patient and understanding of your child's shortcomings. As much as possible, make your interaction with the tutor something you enjoy and your child will also become motivated to be a more cooperative student. If you have specific issues you would like addressed, you should make sure that you bring this up and your tutor will be happy to provide answers. There are several excellent programs that you can utilize. Some are very popular and offer a wide range of teaching methods. Others are much more simple and allow your child to focus on reading and writing skills at a younger age. There are programs that allow your child to speak to the tutor in real time, so that they can listen and see the results of their work in their own time. When you start your program, there will be a few initial tasks, such a s identifying your child's strengths and weaknesses, looking at a particular lesson, and training your child to be able to function in the tutor's office. After these tasks, you will have a program that is geared toward teaching your child as well as building their confidence. This is the program that you will be using when you begin tutoring for toddlers.

Slope of a Vertical line

Slope of a Vertical line A vertical line is the line that is parallel to the y axis as, the y-axis is the vertical line. The equation of the y axis is x = 0. Slope of a line is defined as raise over run. The slope of a straight line is calculated by the change in the y co-ordinates divided by the change in the x co-ordinates of any two points on the straight line. Example 1: Find the equation of the straight line parallel to y axis and passing through the point (3, 4)? Solution: Given, the line is parallel to the y axis. The equation of the y axis is x = 0. The lines are parallel so they have the same slope. The slope of the y-axis is undefined. Hence the slope of the vertical line is undefined. General form of the vertical line passing through (a, b) is x =a The line is passing through (3, 4). Therefore the equation of the vertical line is x = 3. Example 2: Find the equation of the straight line parallel to y axis and passing through the point (1, -5)? Solution: Given, the line is parallel to the y axis. The equation of the y axis is x = 0. The slope of the y-axis is undefined. Hence the slope of the vertical line is undefined. General form of the vertical line passing through (a, b) is x =a The line is passing through (1, -5). Therefore the equation of the vertical line is x = 1.

Thriving In A Brainstorming Meeting as an Introvert - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / Thriving In A Brainstorming Meeting as an Introvert - Introvert Whisperer Thriving In A Brainstorming Meeting as an Introvert As an introvert in the workplace, nothing is more draining than meetings. I just want to sit at my desk, do my work and leave meetings to other people. Whenever I go to a meeting, even if I have nothing to say, I get called on to give my opinion. The hardest types of meetings though are brainstorms. With other meetings, you can get away with sitting in the back, saying something only when asked or when it’s your turn. Brainstorm meetings force creativity, interactions, and holding full-fledged conversations. Every time I’ve walked out of a brainstorm, I feel totally drained.   If you work in a creativity demanding environment like me, you’re probably well acquainted with brainstorms and the toll they take on your emotional well-being. Here are some tips to not only handle the stress but thrive in brainstorms and how to walk out not feeling squeezed dry.   Prepping Everybody Before the Brainstorm Far too much time is wasted at the beginning of poorly planned brainstorms trying to figure out what they’re gonna brainstorm. Having no topic, or an extremely loose topic just leads to long side conversations, additional interactions and wasted time.   By emailing everybody ahead of time and informing them of the focus for the brainstorm, it will help everybody hit the ground running. That means less chit chat, more work and the sooner you can get back to sweet solitude and start to recharge. If you aren’t in charge, encourage the facilitator to send that email out.   Finding The Right Place Lots of workplaces aren’t designed to promote creativity and collaborating, or may just don’t have a spare room to dedicate to brainstorms. In these situations, making everybody feel relaxed, including you, is next to impossible. Nobody wants to throw out ideas in a room next to the boss or in a public space where everybody can hear.   Finding a safe, relaxed spot for everybody helps get those creative juices flowing. If your office doesn’t have a space like this, encourage going off-site. This will transform a stuffy, stressful meeting into a more casual and relaxed get together with coworkers. Just be sure to stay focused and actually working. Some great places to head to are: coffee shops, libraries, local parks and office lobbies.   Promote creative ideas by providing members of the group with the tools needed to think up and explain ideas. Have a whiteboard or massive notepad for people to sketch out ideas to explain to the group. Have access to a computer so somebody can show an existing idea and bounce ideas on how it applies to the current problem. Identify and provide the tools your team needs so they can provide the most value in the meeting.   Being The Scribe Your brainstorm is only as good as the ideas remembered. That means somebody has to record all of the ideas that get tossed around. Volunteering to be the note taker for the meeting not only makes you a valuable member of the brainstorm but also allows you to be more in the background. Nobody expects too many ideas from the scribe because they are busy writing everything down.   That doesn’t mean you are off the hook, though. Be sure to still contribute ideas to the group and not use note taking as an escape. You simply have better control of your interactions and don’t have to push yourself to match those around you.   Every Idea is a Good Idea One massive fear in a meeting is saying an idea that people deem stupid and you being judged as unintelligent. Add that to crippling social anxiety or an introverted nature, and there is no chance of contributing to a group discussion.   The best brainstorms are upbeat, positive, sessions where ideas should be given without fear of judgment. You never know how your ideas can influence others, and crazy ideas can lead to great innovations. Having each participant be on board with this idea will reduce a lot of stress and make the meeting that much better.   Set a Time Limit One of the dangers of a brainstorm is people simply chatting or getting off topic. Brainstorms can easily turn into a two or three-hour time suck, even though all of the ideas were burned through in the first hour.   These drawn out interactions can be extremely draining, with you sitting, just wishing it would end, but too afraid to walk out. If you are in charge of setting up the brainstorm, define a clear start and stop time for the meeting. This will help focus the group to squeeze as much out of that time as possible. If you aren’t in charge of the meeting, scheduling a task after the meeting will give you an excuse to duck out and encourage everybody else to end the meeting. Be sure to let everybody know beforehand that you’ll have to leave so it doesn’t seem you are just abandoning the brainstorm.   The Value of Brainstorms While they can be very draining, brainstorms can be incredibly valuable in a creative career. Don’t shy away from calling a brainstorm when you’re stuck with something. You can avoid big scale brainstorms by having short, effective, impromptu sessions with just a few coworkers. Getting a few more minds involved in a problem can make creative solutions and build workplace camaraderie.   Do you have some tricks for getting the most out of brainstorms? How do you prevent yourself from getting totally drained after a meeting? Let us know in the comments below. CO2 Molecular Geometry

CO2 Molecular Geometry CO2 Molecular Geometry Molecular Geometry: The three dimensional structural arrangement of different atoms in a molecule is called as Molecular Geometry. There are different types of molecular structure formations depending on the number of covalent bonds. The VSEPR theory which also means valence shell electron pair repulsion theory is used to decide the geometrical structure of the given molecule. How is VSEPR theory used in Molecular Geometry? According to the VSEPR theory the number of valence electrons on the central atom decide the molecular structure of the compound. The central atom can either form bond pairs or lone pairs with its valence electrons. The bond pairs are formed when the central atom shares the electrons with another atom. The lone pair are the electrons which belong to the central atom in a molecule and are not shared with any other atom. Lone pairs are also called as non-bonding pair of electrons. Here is how the number of bond pairs and lone pairs can be calculated for a given atom. Number of bonding electrons = (Total possible valence shell electrons) - (Valence shell electrons of the atom) Number of non-bonding electrons = (Total possible valence shell electrons) 2 x (number of bonding electrons) Using the formulas for finding the bonding and non-bonding electrons for some atoms: Atom Total number of valence electrons possible. Number of valence electrons Number of bonding electrons Number of non-bonding electrons Carbon C 8 4 8 - 4 = 4 8 -2 (4) = 0 Nitrogen N 8 5 8 - 5 = 3 8 2 (3) = 2 Oxygen O 8 6 8 - 6 = 2 8 2 (2) = 4 Fluorine F 8 7 8 - 7 = 1 8 2 (1) = 6 Neon Ne 8 8 8 - 8 = 0 8 - 2 (0) = 8 According to the table mentioned above here is how the atoms will look like: Depending on the number of bonding pairs and the lone pairs the molecular geometry of atoms can be predicted. Here is the table mentioned by the VSEPR theory: Bonding Electron pairs Lone pairs Shape of the Molecule Angle 2 0 Linear 1800 3 0 Trigonal Planar 1200 2 1 Bent 1200 4 0 Tetrahedral 109.50 3 1 Trigonal Pyramidal 109.50 2 2 Bent 109.50 5 0 Trigonal Bipyramid 900, 1200, 1800. 4 1 Seesaw 900, 1200, 1800 3 2 T-Shaped 900, 1800 2 3 Linear 1800 6 0 Octahedral 900, 1800 5 1 Square Pyramidal 900, 1800 4 2 Square Planar 900, 1800 CO2 Molecular Geometry: For the Carbon di-oxide molecule, Carbon is the central atom and it forms covalent bonds with the two oxygen atoms. The first step is to write the electronic configuration for the carbon atom and check for the number of valence electrons it has. The Carbon atom has an atomic number of 6. The electronic configuration of Carbon is 1s2, 2s2, 2p2. The number of valence electrons of carbon is 4. As already shown in the table above Carbon has 4 bonding electrons and no lone pairs. The Carbon atom needs 4 more electrons to reach the stable state configuration. Hence it forms 4 covalent bonds. The Oxygen atom has the atomic number of 8. The electronic configuration of Oxygen atom is 1s2, 2s2, 2p4. The number of valence electrons for Oxygen is 6. As already shown in the table above Oxygen has 4 non-bonding electrons (2 lone pairs) and 2 bonding electrons. The Oxygen atoms needs two more electrons to reach the stable sate configuration. Hence it forms two covalent bonds. Using the VSEPR theory for Molecular Geometry, CO2 has linear shape. Central atom carbon forms double bonds with each Oxygen atom [C=O]. Due to the sharing of electrons Carbon and Oxygen now have 8 electrons in the outermost shell. As the molecular Structure for the Carbon di-oxide CO2 molecule is linear, it has an angle of 1800. Since the Oxygen atom has 2 lone pairs, it pulls the shared bond pair of electrons towards itself due to which there is an electronegativity generated in the carbon oxygen bond formation. This is the reason carbon oxygen double bond is polar covalent. However as there are two oxygen atoms on both sides they form symmetry due to which the CO2 molecule is non-polar.

A Sure-Fire Way to Land a Job You Hate - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / A Sure-Fire Way to Land a Job You Hate - Introvert Whisperer A Sure-Fire Way to Land a Job You Hate Recently, I have spoken to a couple of people about the importance of clarifying what they are pursuing in their job search.  In this economic environment, it’s important if not vital to focus on a specific position so it drives what content you focus on in your resume and LinkedIn profile.  Without doing that, you don’t stand a chance of being pulled out of the Applicant Tracking System, much less passing the all-important “first skim.” At the same time, many people who are out of work are using this job search time to pursue jobs that made up previous positions, but not the last job.  Usually the motivation is to avoid doing something they really don’t like to do.  That is understandable but (and here’s where the lack of clarity comes in for these people) they are still submitting their resume for those types of positions.  Which means they lack clarity for what they are pursuing and that won’t get you what you want.  It’s how you end up with a job you hate.  And it won’t be a pretty picture for how long and painful it will take to end up with a job you don’t really want. Granted, in this hiring environment you will be much more competitive if you are looking for the same type of job as the last one you did.      If the last job you did is the last thing in the world you want to do then you need to be clear on what job you are pursuing. (Tweet this!)  Then focus not just your resume but also all of your activities on that specific job. Finding Something vs. Finding the Right Thing Many people think that casting the net of your job search to all of the jobs you might be qualified for will increase your odds of “finding something” regardless of whether or not you really want to do that work.  In today’s environment, that logic will backfire on you.  You first have to make a choice on exactly what position you are pursuing, then rework your resume and LinkedIn profile to reflect the skills needed to support that position.  After that your behavior needs to line up behind that decision.  You need to communicate clearly to your network what you’re looking for.  You must be submitting that reworked resume to those specific jobs. In my years working on various business processes, the one thing we always used to say is that you get the results that your process is designed to get.  If your job search process is going after jobs you don’t want, THAT will be your result.  Think about it. So You Want to Become a Singer Heres How to Get There

So You Want to Become a Singer Heres How to Get There Suzy S. Private lessons? Check. Big dreams? Check! But theres one more part of the equation thats integral to become a singer and reach your career goals. Find out as Monclova, OH teacher Carrie A. explains I cant tell you how many students over the years have come to me saying they wanted to be on TV or Broadway. While those are great aspirations to go after, it really isnt the place to start to become a singer. What I have found is a great way to get started is to look for opportunities to perform right in your own community. It is seriously a huge long shot to go from never performing at all, to being chosen for some sort of reality show. Without preparation and experience, it can really be a recipe for disaster. I have performed in front on thousands of people numerous times, including once at Carnegie Hall. I, however, did not start there. I participated in lots of community theater, performed at weddings, did gigs at coffee shops, and performed at other small-scale venues before I had more distinguished opportunities. I understand the desire to perform in front of large audiences, but I strongly encourage my students to take advantage of every opportunity they have to perform, whether big or small. Every performance is an opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun. Im going to give you some suggestions that I have given to my students that have opened lots of doors for them. First, get a set list together. Whether you are a vocalist or instrumentalist, you need to have at least 10 songs prepared that you can use if someone gives you the opportunity to perform. Dont be in a hurry with this step. Look for songs that mean something to you and flow well together. Work with your music instructor to find what fits you and go with that. Second, gear up for rejection. You will be told no, probably multiple times. Dont stop until you get a yes! Im a professional singer and Ive had to deal with the same thing. Dont take it personally, just move on and get excited for when someone says yes. Third, connect with area charity organizations and ask if they need music at their next fundraiser. It will be a chance to use music to strengthen the community and possibly create more connections for future performances. Fourth, think of places you can give back and get performance experience at the same time. For example, lots of nursing homes will jump at the chance to have you come and entertain their guests. Finally, dont look down on any opportunity that comes your way. Remember in the beginning its all about getting yourself out there and letting people know you are available, and honing your skills at the same time. If that means you start by singing the national anthem at a local high school basketball game, so be it. One of my students did that very thing and now is invited by major car racing events to do the national anthem where she sings in front of 30,000 people and the event is televised. Bottom line in the beginning nothing is too small if you really want to become a singer. Enjoy where you are and build to a great future in music! While you don’t need to write a script for everything that you’re going to film, getting your ideas onto paper is a good idea before you start filming. Storyboarding or planning your scenes is a good idea to ensure you get the footage you need. (Source: StartupStockPhotos)You don’t film with a camera in the same way you would with a camcorder. Cameras work better with static shots, for one. Furthermore, if you want to get different angles with a different lens, you’ll need to get these changes done effectively. For example, a zoom lens won't provide the same look as a wide-angle lens or telephoto lens. Changeable lenses? An entry-level camera might be all an aspiring filmmaker needs.  Choosing DSLRs or hybrid cameras are great for taking high-quality photos and getting great footage and are compatible with a large range of lenses.Plan ShotsA camera can’t film indefinitely. Depending on the model, you may only be able to film continuously for between 5 minutes and 30 minutes. In some cases, you ca n increase the continuous recording time by altering the settings. You need to organise the filming of your shots so that the recording doesn’t cut out part-way through. Organise your shots as this will help you when it comes to editing, too.Don’t forget to take several SD cards with you. It’s quite common for filmmakers starting out with a camera to forget just how much space videos and photographs can take up on memory cards. Digital cameras aren’t designed to shoot for long time periods. You don’t want to have to stop filming because you’re out of space.  Memory cards are always a good investment since having extras will give you peace of mind.Learn How to Stabilise Your CameraShakiness can be hard to deal with in post-production. If you’ve already tried filming something with your camera, you might have noticed how much the camera shakes even when you thought you were holding it really steady. The best way to stabilise your camera is by using a tripod. (Source: PhotoMIX-Company)Some cameras have a built-in stabiliser. This can deal with a slight amount of shaking from your hands. Though it might not always be enough. The best thing is to invest in a good tripod to film static shots and you won’t have to worry about stabilisation. For compact cameras, you can get Steadicam, a camera stabiliser that allows you to film steadily while moving. These tools are often used with cameras like GoPros but also work with cameras. In some cases, there are as many settings in the video mode as there are in the photo modes.Once you’ve activated the video mode, you’ll have a few settings you’ll need to adjust. First will be whether you want to film in 4K, HD, or lower quality. You’ll need to choose the size and ratio of the footage captured. You’ll also want to set the framerate. Generally, you’ll choose either 24 or 25 frames per second but some cameras will also shoot 50 or 60 frames per second in a slow-motion mode. Finally, you’ll need to alter the settings that you usually use for photos (white balance, brightness, contrast, etc.).Get the Lighting RightWithout light, you can’t take photos o r film. After all, a camera has to capture light to transform into photos and footage. As you’ll have understood, getting the lighting right is the best way to get good photos and film. Filming at night takes skill and patience. (Source: Anestiev)Avoid backlighting and try to film while facing away from the sun. Similarly, don’t film in places that are too dark. Some devices can film in really low light (thanks to full-frame sensors and ISO) but this can still be complicated, especially for smaller sensors. You need to get the lighting right.Opt for Static ShotsAs we said previously, cameras are better suited to static shots and tend to struggle with travelling shots, which dedicated film cameras deal better with. Why is this? The lack of autofocus designed solely with video in mind.  The autofocus is generally for a static shot, like when taking photographs. When the device is moving, it’ll struggle to find what to focus on so you’ll need to adjust this manually.  This can be really tricky while you’re also filming. The best thing is to plan your footage with static shots as it’s easier to control the focus.
